Topsy Turvy Funky Cake

This cake was made for a 13th birthday and I had a lot of fun making it. Originally it was suppose to be a Justin Beiber slab cake but the cake topper my customer ordered off Ebay did not arrive in time. I suggested changing the design of the cake and after looking at the various cakes I had made she gave be complete control over the design and look of the cake.

I wanted the cake to be fun and funky so of course I had to go with a topsy turvy cake.

I think it turned out great :) I was so excited to show the cake to my customer and I was acting just like a little kid right before Christmas. I kept checking the door in anticipation of her arrival. lol My husband had to tell me to sit down and relax.

Here are a few more views of the cake:

The not so itsy bitty spider

A lady I worked with asked me to make a tarantula cake for her son's 19th birthday. Sounds like a weird request right? Well her son had 2 tarantulas and loves them.  Anyone who knows me knows that I hate spiders. It was actually quite humorous that I spent most the day staring at spiders in an effort to get this to be as realistic as possible.

As it turns out my kids LOVE love love the cake and were very sad to hear that it was for a customer and they would not be able to eat it. Both my 5 year old son and my 3 year old daughter are now begging me to make them a tarantula cake. ROFL

Shark theme birthday party

What does my son say he wants to be when he grows up? A marine biologist. So how fitting is it that he choose a pool party and a shark cake for his birthday. And not just any shark cake, he tells me it has to be jumping out of the water with his mouth open and have a person inside his mouth.

The cake:

Cheers to little boys!

And of course men who are still little boys at heart!

I made this camping and fishing cake for Riley's 11th birthday. He loved it and it was great to see how happy and excited he was about his cake.
Here is a close up of the fisherman.

And the camping cake I made for my husband's 42nd birthday. When you are 42 your cake always looks like a bonfire. hehehe
Cheers to all the campers and fishers, especially the ones who love cake. :)

Movie night birthday party with bag of popcorn cake

Made this cake for my 11 year old's birthday. My husband and I took 6 awesome boys to the movie. Filled them up with pizza, cake, popcorn, pop, candy, played some video games and send them home with a treat bag.

It was a huge success and a lot of fun to listen to the boys talking and being silly in the van.
